I am sorry But have you people forgotten what it was to be a kid and have a party in school? we are taking away a part of childhood and lets not even get into we ate plenty of stuff while we were kids! the problem is the PARENTS!! they want the schools to do what the they can not . One snack that you pack and a lunch you can choose to pack for your child is not making our kids FAT!!! it starts at the home! and passing by the fast food chains!!
I am so tired of hearing all these people speak and then go to one of their own kids parties to have all the junk! what happened to everything in moderation! and by the way many areas on LI are having more problems with kids who are too THIN and starving themselves on the North shore of LI!! So this is very dangerous to our schools!!
This is a growing problem but i think it is due to my peers not being parents and saying no. Our school gave up much of what the list you had for NYC schools fundraisers because they have not worked over the years . Forget the wrapping papers, car washes etc.. it depends upon the area our live and what works . This is so sad to me! I guess i am one of the few you doesn't want to be my child's friend but their parent and I say no. Also you have many parents who want their kids to be thin when their bodies are growing and these parents have had so much work done and are always at the gym while eating candy in there pocket books!! These blanket statement are so sad> I would think living in Rosyln you would see what is going on in your schools as well as the local school around you ,what we in Jericho are talking about eating disorders and how thin the girls and now i am hearing about the boys as well!
